The winner of the Tim Holtz stamp set is posted in the newsletter...go there to find out who it is...and for this week, we have the following prize:It is six sheets of SEI's new Moravia paper, along with a set of grungeboard, dotted, and no longer being made...so, last chance to get this cool stuff. Here is this week's question: Describe where you keep your art supplies...a room?...a closet?...in your pocket?...and what is your favorite storage secret to share with us? Thanks for playing.
So, here's something that came into the store and blew out before we even knew what was happening...the printers' trays from 7Gypsies...they are all out of them, as are all the other suppliers in the country, I think...so, we have a whole bunch on order, and they will arrive around the end of October. If you want to start getting your project ready for these neat frames, each section measures 2 3/4 x 3 3/4, so I trim all my paper to fit inside by coming down just hair off
of those measurements, not even a full 1/16...or maybe it is, but, really, not very much. There are 12 frames in each tray...We did them up as a calendar, using the Maya Road new calendar sets, and we also did this cool Christmas scene, using the new Webster's Pages paper. For the calendar tray, I also added a small postage stamp from the Crafty Secrets "all-year" set of embellishments--it has something for every month, and we used the postage edger scissors to make it look like a stamp.
So, I am thinking, 12 days of Christmas, linking two together for an advent calendar, family photos, winter scenes--lots of crystally snow flakes...it just begs to be decorated. If you would like to reserve one (or three) of these neat items, which are $15.99, feel free to call the store and put your name on the list. We are keeping a "reserved item" list for these.

  1. I am fortunate to have a good sized room (approx 14' x 14') to devote to my arts and crafts supplies!!! I love it!!! And it is on the main floor of my home so I love it even more. This room holds everything I love: paper, inks, paints, stamps, canvases, books, photos, tools and supplies, finished projects, projects in progress ... the list goes on and on!!! I have a LOT crammed in to this room, it's two closets and it's built in cabinets!!!

  2. I have finally settled into a real craft room in one of our extra bedrooms. We picked a bunch of IKEA furniture for my desk and storage. I love my Expedit storage shelves (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40047675) because they hold my 12x12 albums, photo holders, and lots of other bins and things.

My favorite smaller storage item is glass jars filled with ribbon bundles. I love seeing my ribbon artfully displayed and easily accessible.

  3. I am fortunate to have a craft room, that I share with my boyfriend and his radio (cb and ham) collection. I have more supplies than I know what to do with; and my dream is to have them all categorized in clear containers, with labels all made from a label machine. I have a vision of something that Martha Stewart would put together. Which is all really silly, because I probably would still stuff everything I can into whatever I need on the run. Phew....Scrappin' is tough work.

  4. I have a craft room up in our attic. It's a little chilly in the winter, but a space heater warms it right up. I have some IKEA bookcases & a modular desk from Herman Miller furniture. I always seem to need more cubbies/drawers I can reach right from my chair, though. :)

  5. I had a small plastic file with 3 drawers in my dining room corner. It overflows into a couple of tote bags and cardboard boxes. Now that my son has gone to college, I've set up a table in his room and slowly starting to organize an area for me to set up to scrapbook. My storage tip: I use a plastic fishing tackle box to store small emblellishments. I store miscellaneous buttons sorted by color and size.

  6. I am very lucky to have a crafting room--all my beading, scrap and quilting supplies! I work on a glass topped desk (got it on sale somewhere???) so it makes it real easy to clean!!!

  7. I have a studio space chock full of crafting supplies (but also thousands of books). I use plastic carts with drawers that are individually covered so you can take them out and carry them with you with no fuss. That's where I keep most of my rubber stamps (hundreds - nay thousands of them!!). I keep fabric fat quarters and small paper punches in clear hanging shoe holders over doors and against the sides of book shelves. I love decorative pails for keeping loose brushes, pens, whatevers..NOREEN LUCEY

  8. I am jealous of all of you with a room to craft in. I have a desk with hutch in my living room.I also have 6 drawer iris cart, a 4ft tall paper storage on wheels with dust cover, 3 drawer table with my printer on it all squished into my living room. Of course when I work I spill out onto the kitchen island and dining room table. But then again my family becomes part of the creative process.

  9. We use what is supposed to be a dining room a scrapbook/computer room. It's between the living room and the kitchen and in the midst of it all. I have one entire side of the room and the kids that built in shelving, drawers, desk and computer on the other side. It works well for us. They can safely be on the internet while I am sitting right there making sure they aren't up to no good :) We are hoping to put in an entire kitchen counter/cabinet set with our tax return next year. It will make the room look bigger and less cluttered. It will be horseshoe shaped and my 8 yr old will have her own section to work in too.

  10. I have a 4x6 closet that has coated wire shelving around 3 sides that semi manages the multitude of paper I think I need. Around the floor on all three sides I have Sterilite rolling cards that store all the embellishments and tools. I use the top surfaces of these for layouts along with an old sewing machine table.
